JOY in the wild

I have found that joy, for me, lives in the small things more than the big ones...
Waking up after a really good sleep with no aches or pains (I'm old). The perfect cup of coffee. Hearing a song that reminds me of a memory. Getting a funny meme from friend. Holding the door for someone and having that continue like a chain reaction of door holding and smiles and thank yous. Seeing my kids' faces as they come off the bus and run into my arms. Knowing I made someone's day better through a smile after a workout...
Not every day is like this, joy shows up when and where it wants to. But I have also started looking for it. In a world that constantly wants our attention and to keep us scrolling, I have been actively trying to slow down and just be, notice the good and try to not rush past it. I've started doing something I call Joy In The Wild where I try to notice and share some of the joy I find in a day. You can read more about it here.
Joy is asking us to be present, look up from our phones - trust me, we want you here - but also, put your phone down sometimes. Look around and notice. What's joyful and where can you magically sprinkle some like pixie dust?
You will be amazed at how stopping to notice and share some joy can change not only your day, but everyone else's too. One person's joy has a way of becoming everyone's, if you let it.
Where did you find and share joy today?
